A Question Worth Following Through
A lender requested an additional well water test that our team believed might not apply. Breakaway researched the issue, verified the applicable information with the appropriate local authority, documented the answer, and shared the findings with the lender.
Our team kept following up. The lender ultimately agreed and cleared the file for closing, then acknowledged the issue and said the guidance would be shared internally to help prevent it happening again.
The Takeaway
Good coordination goes beyond checking boxes: notice the question, verify the information, document the answer, and follow through.
A question won’t always change a requirement. This example is about careful verification, not routinely challenging lenders.
